With the introduction of a new facelift for the Z4 Roadster in 2006, BMW also launched a much more powerful version, the Z4M. It featured a more muscular front end, aerodynamic underbody structure, and twin tailpipes. Its chassis benefitted from a lightweight front axle and sportier suspension than the standard Z4, which made for better weight distribution and, therefore, improved cornering speeds. The Z M was also fitted with a top-of-the-range 3.2-litre N52 6-cylinder unit delivering 338hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Other new features on the all-new Z4M included an innovative Dynamic Stability Control system (assisting in slippery conditions), Advanced Safety Electronics and a high-performance braking system.
A total of just 1,052 EU-spec Z4M coupes were produced in right-hand drive between April 2006 and June 2008.

The M Coupe’s aggressive styling is perfectly accentuated by its lustrous coat of Silver Grey Metallic. Despite its originality the paintwork retains an excellent finish, with no unsightly dings to be found. In fact, aside from a handful of discreet chips to the front end the body is beautiful throughout. Cars of this mileage in such good condition are seldom seen, making this rare Z4 a particularly attractive purchase for the discerning M enthusiast.
The cabin space is in remarkable condition and, much like the exterior, seems to defy the car’s mileage. The exclusive Nappa leather upholstery shows few signs of significant use, with no major wear to any of the deep bolsters. Other commonly worn areas such as the leather gear knob and handbrake leather present beautifully. The chunky M leather steering wheel also retains a clean appearance, although brand new trims are present and ready to be fitted should the new keeper desire.
The carpets throughout remain in very good, unmarked condition and are protected in both foot-wells by genuine over mats. The boot area is also pristine and is still home to the retractable load cover, tyre inflator kit and tools.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Boasting close to 340hp the 3.2-litre power plant rockets the Z4 from 0-60 in under five seconds. That intoxicating straight-six growl is present first turn of the key, and unsurprisingly the engine bay is very tidy indeed. All plastics and components appear in clean condition, and all mechanicals in fine fettle. The most recent service was an Inspection II carried out in April 2017 at Barons of Hindhead. The centre exhaust pipe and both rear silencers were replaced by BMW at 90k miles at a cost of over £2,600.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 18-inch M Double Spoke alloys are unique to the Z4M and are original to the car. They have been refurbished to a very a high standard and are now finished in a slightly darker shade, a handsome complement to the Silver Grey bodywork. The wheels are shod in high performance Michelin tyres all round, the rears having been fitted in July 2017 at 90k miles. The front discs and pads were replaced just a few months before at 89k miles.
This superb M Coupe has been extremely well cared for and has seen just two owners from new. It has been meticulously maintained at BMW with all services carried out in the correct order, as detailed below. In fact, nearly £6,500 has been spent with BMW in the last 12 months. The most recent service was an Inspection II carried out in April 2017 at Barons of Hindhead.
