Model History

When the Aventador was released in 2011, it changed the standards of what a supercar could look like, and only Lamborghini could surpass itself with the new Aventador S. More power, modified external features, and the “S” designation are just a few of the elements that make this Lamborghini the ultimate dream car for many.

The design of the Aventador S clearly indicates the new Aventador generation. The S features a number of exterior developments, particularly at the front and rear, while its profile remains clearly an Aventador. Every modified component is redesigned for a purpose, achieving maximum aerodynamic efficiency while accenting the car’s complex, muscular dynamism. Furthermore, Lamborghini Centro Stile has intelligently integrated certain elements of past icons, such as the lines of rear wheel arches reminiscent of the original Countach.

A more aggressive nose and longer front splitter redirect airflow for better aerodynamic efficiency, improved engine cooling and increased cooling to the radiators. Two air ducts in the side of the front bumper reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tyres and optimise wake flow to the rear radiator.

The rear of the Aventador S is dominated by a black diffuser characterised by a number of vertical fins that amplify the airflow effects, reduce drag through pressure recovery, and generate downforce. Three single exhaust outlets exit through the rear bumper. The active rear wing is movable in three positions depending on speed and drive select mode, and optimises the car’s improved overall balance, working with vortex generators created in the front and rear of the chassis’ underside that maximise air flow as well as assist in brake cooling.

The Aventador S design results in significantly enhanced aerodynamic performance. Front downforce has been improved by more than 130% over the previous Aventador coupé. When the wing is in its optimum position the overall efficiency at high downforce is improved by over 50%, and in low drag by more than 400% compared to the previous model.

The Aventador’s naturally aspirated twelve cylinder, 6.5-litre engine outputs an additional 40PS over its predecessor, to a maximum 740PS, with a 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. To achieve the power increase, both VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) have been optimised in order to obtain an enriched torque curve. Additionally, the maximum engine revs have been increased from 8,350 to 8,50rpm. A dry weight of just 1,575kg provides a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.13kg/hp. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is reached in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h. Transmission is provided by Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotised gear shifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

Full body Paint Protection Film (PPF) by Topaz, Nero Pegaso Metallic paintwork (CO), Removable roof panels, Sportivo bicolour leather upholstery in Nero Ade with Rosso Alala detailing, S-Trim with full leather cabin upgrade (CO), Ad Personam interior trim and stitching in Rosso Alala (CO), Interior carbon fibre package (CO), Branding pack with embroidered Lamborghini shield in Rosso Alala (CO), Interior details in high gloss black (CO), Multifunction steering wheel with perforated leather inserts (CO), Rosso Alala stitching (CO), Lamborghini radio with DAB (CO), Phone holder, Dione forged rims in high gloss black with diamond cut finish (CO), Red brake calipers (CO), Magneto-rheological suspension with lifting system and black rear spring, Park Assist – front and rear sensors with rear view camera (CO), Fully electric and heated seats (CO), Mirror housings in shiny black (CO), Style Package (CO), Transparent engine bonnet (CO), Tailored Lamborgini indoor car cover. CO = Cost Option.

Having driven just 2k miles from new this outstanding 2018 S Roadster presents impeccably throughout. The glossy Nero Pegaso paintwork look sensational with a sharp metallic flake on close inspection – our studio photos really don’t do it justice. Better still, the pristine bodywork is fully protected by PPF all round, as applied by Topaz when the car was brand new. Factory exterior cost options include the Style Package, gloss black door mirrors, red brake calipers, metallic paintwork, and glass louvres on the engine cover.

This striking Aventador boasts a perfectly spec’d cabin space, the ultimate complement to the exterior paint scheme. The heated and electrically adjustable seats are upholstered in supple Nero leather with contrasting Rosso stitching, S-Trim inserts, and Lamborghini crests. Unmarked leather extends to the door panels, dash, centre console, and multifunction steering wheel with perforated inserts and gloss black details. The instrument cluster, centre console and door panels are additionally finished with gleaming carbon fibre, which can also be seen in the door sill area. Further cost options include DAB radio and the desirable Park Assist, which comprises front and rear sensors plus a rear view camera.

Power comes from the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, developing 740PS at 8,400 rpm. This high-revving engine provides extremely fast response and a most addictive sound from the exhaust. 0-62mph is performed in a swift 2.9 seconds with the help of the 7-Speed ISR transmission and AWD system. The engine of this example is partially visible with the lid closed thanks to the factory-specified glass louvres on the rear cover.

Filling the arches are the striking Dione forged rims in gloss black with a diamond cut finish; pristine red calipers and vast carbon ceramic discs are visible between the spokes. The tyres are Pirelli P Zero, 255/30 ZR20 at the front and 355/25 ZR21 at the rear. Magneto-rheological suspension with lifting system provides additional ground clearance when necessary. The tyres and brakes have seen just 2,466 miles of use.
