Exterior

This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the best surviving examples of the ultimate classic Mini. With just two keepers from new, a remarkably low 6,415 miles, and huge spec including the Sports Pack, Recaro seats, and the all-important 90bhp JCW kit, it’s a beautifully preserved example that ticks every box.

Finished in quintessential Almond Green with a contrasting white roof, door mirrors, and bonnet stripes, this exceptional late-model Cooper epitomises the charm of the final ‘classic’ Minis. The paintwork remains in fantastic original condition with barely an imperfection in sight, and with the wider arches and 13x6 alloys the car has a very purposeful stance. The four driving lamps add a touch of rally-inspired character while the brightwork, badging, and John Cooper details all remain in excellent condition. The car has always been correctly dry stored to preserve its amazing condition and, just as you’d expect for the mileage, everything feels incredibly fresh and tight.

Interior

Inside, the Mini continues to impress with its lavishly spec’d Porcelain Green leather Recaro seats, matching green carpets, and walnut trim – all in exceptional condition. The factory-fitted electric sunroof provides an airy feel while the thick-rimmed steering wheel adds to the sporty aesthetic, feeling great in-hand with a perfect grain to the leather. Glancing across the dash, every detail speaks to the car’s careful ownership and limited use. From the crisp instrumentation to the supple leather upholstery, the cabin is highly original and virtually unmarked throughout.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

In July 2000, at 15 months old, the original 1275cc engine was treated to the John Cooper Garages ‘S Works’ conversion which enhanced the standard unit to produce approximately 90bhp – an impressive 40% power increase over the standard Cooper. The work was carried out by John Cooper Garages in West Sussex and included a revised cylinder head, uprated camshaft, exhaust system, etc, etc. The car also received an individually numbered plaque (No. 0448-Si) to confirm its authenticity.

History File

This beautiful example was originally supplied by Whichford Rover of Basingstoke in April 1999. Ordered new with the Classic Almond Green paint finish, Porcelain Green leather upholstery, the Sports Pack, an electric sunroof, and walnut interior trim, it also benefited from several dealer accessories including a polished rocker cover, door sill treads, driving lamp covers, and a high-mounted rear brake light. The total on-the-road price came to £12,697.55 – a significant sum for the day.

The Mini remained with its original owner until 2023, accruing only 6,350 miles in 24 years. The accompanying history file is comprehensive to say the least, with the original order forms and bill of sale, a thick raft of invoices, correspondence and documentation from John Cooper Garages detailing the £2,319.63 engine upgrade and rear wiper fitment, the original service book and manuals, sales brochures and price lists, the current V5C showing just 1 former keeper, and every MOT certificate chronicling the car’s careful upkeep and further verifying the ultra low mileage. The last service was carried out only 4 miles ago in October 2025, and the MOT is valid until April 2026.
