Exterior

This is without doubt the finest R53 Mini we’ve seen - a highly original and unmodified example is truly outstanding condition. Worthy of any collection, this low mileage GP1 presents to the highest standard with little more than a couple of light frontal stone chips to report. The paintwork is exceptional and following inspection appears very original throughout. She’s arrow-straight along both sides and having been fully detailed and ceramic coated before arriving with us the depth of shine is magnificent. Cherished since new and always garaged, it’s a very special car indeed.

Interior

Opening the door it’s hard to believe that the car has driven even 2k miles, let alone 22k. The Recaro seats are exceptionally well presented, and despite having such deep bolsters there are almost signs of any wear to report, even on the driver’s side. The leather remains feeling soft and supple with a flawless factory matte sheen throughout. The same is true of the steering wheel, again with a perfect grain to the leather and absolutely no wear or shininess to report. The dash, switchgear, instruments, and door pulls are also unmarked, and the carpets are unspoiled having always been protected by the original velour overmats. Lift the tailgate and it’s clear to see that the large boot has never seen any bulky items loaded.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The engine bay is also remarkably clean and original with no signs of any damage or previous poor repair. The mechanics of the car are first-rate and despite having driven only 21,900 miles it has been serviced 7 times to date, as below. For the new keeper’s peace of mind a full mechanical inspection and service are due to be carried out by our trusted Mini specialist prior to sale.

This cossetted first-generation JCW GP was supplied new by Halliwell Jones, Chester, in August 2006. It’s number 499 of only 2,000 bonafide GP1s ever built, and one of only a few hundred produced for the UK. Despite having passed through the hands of 5 clearly very careful owners, we are confident that this low mileage example is one of the very best available today.
