Exterior

Arguably one of BMW’s most understated performance cars, the E36 M3’s purposeful styling relied on subtle aerodynamic enhancements rather than exaggerated bodywork. Finished in popular Avus Blue, this desirable non-sunroof coupe presents exquisitely with gleaming paintwork, perfect shut lines, and no scuffs or scrapes to the body or trims. It’s also entirely unmodified and remains in its original factory specification complete with amber front indicators and no rear spoiler. The overall condition is a credit to the car’s careful long-term ownership and award-winning history with every panel, seal, and trim piece presenting to a very high standard.

Interior

The Light Grey leather interior is a fantastic contrast to the Avus Blue exterior, creating one of the most attractive colour combinations available on the E36. The cabin is also highly original with beautifully preserved seats, immaculate switchgear, and clean grey carpets with the factory overmats still in place. The leather remains in remarkably supple condition and does not appear to have ever been reconnolised, and finer details such as the gear knob and steering wheel are also perfect. The dash and centre console show no signs of any wear, and we’re pleased to report that the air conditioning is blowing ice-cold following a recent re-gas. In the boot you’ll find the complete BMW toolkit, BMW first aid kit, and a multitude of trophies and awards from the car’s show-winning past.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Power comes from BMW M's legendary 3-litre S50 straight-six, an engine celebrated for its free-revving nature, individual throttle bodies, and that unmistakable induction sound. The five-speed manual gearbox operates smoothly and provides a driving experience that is both rewarding and immensely satisfying. The engine bay here is extremely clean and tidy with no signs of damage or previous poor repair. This example has clearly been well maintained throughout its life but, as to be expected with such a low mileage example, it has also been tucked away in storage to preserve its amazing condition. The last service was carried out in November 2025 less than 100 miles ago, and for additional peace of mind we have just had the car fully inspected with four new Bridgestone tyres and auxiliary drive belts fitted at the current mileage.

History File

Supplied new by Wheatley Hall BMW in February 1994, this 3.0 M3 coupe has driven just 60,723 miles from new. A truly magnificent example in a striking colour combo, the car has previously enjoyed much success on the show scene, earning numerous awards and accolades thanks to its excellent unmodified condition. As values of the finest E36 M3s continue to strengthen, originality, specification, and provenance have become increasingly important – and this ticks one all the boxes.

Accompanying the car is the BMW document pouch with all owners’ manuals, the original maintenance booklet, a thick stack of invoices and documentation, MOT certificates dating right back to 1997, a selection of original M3 sales brochures, dealer tax disc holders, and a trunk load of awards from over the years.
