Exterior

Launched to coincide with the UK cinematic release of the second Tomb Raider movie and understood to be one of only 75 examples produced, this low mileage 4-litre TR2 presents very nicely in striking metallic blue. The paintwork is remarkably original, and the car further benefits from a removable hardtop as well as the standard soft-top offering. All the plastics remain in fine fettle with few marks or defects to report, and we’re pleased to see original 15-inch alloy wheels still fitted. Chrome side steps, front bars, and additional driving lamps complete the look.

Interior

The black and blue leather seats present in great condition with only the usual wrinkling commensurate with the low mileage. The whole interior is generally very tidy with no damage or notable wear to the dash or switchgear, and pleasingly the original Jeep CD/cassette player is still fitted having never been replaced by an unsightly aftermarket head unit. Other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob look fresh, and everything works as it should.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The 4-litre straight-six starts up first turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. The engine bay is notably clean and tidy, not overly dressed but in excellent original condition with no signs of damage or previous poor repair. The manual transmission is surprisingly smooth and handles the engine's power perfectly through the gears. For the next custodian’s peace of mind, the car comes freshly serviced at the current mileage along with new rear tyres and a new battery.

History File

This rare 4.0 manual ‘TR2’ was supplied new by Carrs of Truro Chrysler Jeep in September 2003. It has now driven only 63k miles in the hands of 7 registered keepers, current since 2013. Since arriving at 4 Star the Jeep has been inspected and serviced by our trusted local workshop who also replaced the rear tyres, rear anti-roll bar bushes, and battery. Better still, and unlike most imported examples, this UK-supplied Wrangler is fully ULEZ-compliant meaning it can be enjoyed in and around London immediately. The accompanying paperwork includes a raft of invoices, MOT certificates, the original dealer-stamped Pre-Delivery Inspection sheet from 2003, and the current V5C registration document showing 6 former keepers.
