Exterior

Finished in Black with a tan leather interior, this super low mileage example is quite unlike any other we have encountered. The classic Wrangler silhouette needs little introduction, but the AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) treatment gives this four-door Rubicon an altogether more rugged stance. The bodywork presents in excellent condition, reflecting its extraordinarily low mileage and unusual life as an AEV showroom display vehicle. The extensive AEV equipment has been integrated with the car to create a cohesive, factory-quality appearance rather than an aftermarket collection of bolt-on accessories. Combined with the Rubicon's wider stance and distinctive off-road hardware, the result is a Wrangler that looks every bit as purposeful as its specification suggests. The exceptionally low mileage is immediately apparent throughout with the paint, wheels, and underside all benefiting from having covered virtually no road use since new.

Interior

Inside, the Dark Saddle leather cabin provides a suitably luxurious contrast to the exterior and, as to be expected, everything looks and feels in first-rate condition. Commensurate with the extremely low delivery mileage the seats, carpets, dash, steering wheel, and switchgear all retain an exceptional level of freshness, while the Rubicon's familiar combination of comfort and rugged functionality remains intact. The original touchscreen multimedia system is still in place and everything works as it should.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Power comes from Jeep's 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, one of the most desirable engines offered in the JK generation. Smooth, torquey and well suited to the Wrangler's character, it is paired here with an automatic transmission, making the car particularly easy to drive both on and off-road. As a Rubicon, this Wrangler was already the most capable version of the JK range, with a specification designed for serious off-road use. The extensive AEV upgrades take that capability considerably further, while retaining the usability and versatility that make the four-door Wrangler such an appealing all-rounder.

With a mere 499 km recorded from new, the mechanical condition of the car is excellent and for the new keeper’s peace of mind a major service and check over have recently been completed – so it’s ready for its next adventure.

History File

The story behind this 2014 Rubicon is one of its most unusual features. A cancelled order originally destined for Malaysia, the Jeep subsequently spent many years preserved as an AEV showroom display vehicle, presented on a plinth rather than accumulating the miles normally associated with a vehicle of this kind. The result is a stunning, time warp example that more than defies its years having driven only 310 miles (499 km) from new.

For the enthusiast wanting something far beyond a standard JK Wrangler, this is an unusually well-preserved and highly specified AEV model with fascinating provenance. It comes fully serviced and UK registered with the DVLA, ready for its new owner to enjoy without the complications normally associated with an imported vehicle.
